Long Overdue Update

I have had a good year so far. I am up $1794. I made $800 with my old style. I changed my game up and made the $1100. First off I read both HOH cash game books. That really helped my game. Also I have gotten quite agro in late position. I downloaded the Poker Tracker 3 60 day trial. I will buy this for sure. I have also played a lot this month due to buying a laptop and being on a winning streak. Next month should be a profitable month also, due to Tilt having a mid-year Iron Man bonus. I will get a $250 bonus to work off next month.

Also I got rid of my EP and early MP limps with A-rag-suited and SC’s and gappers and sometimes KQ, which has helped my bottom line. This has helped greatly saving small amounts of money. I had a bad habit of limping in from any position and if it was raised to $1 or less I would call. As you know you don’t hit often enough to make this a +EV play. Plus, when you hit it is usually a draw, thus loses more money because I will chase the flop without odds due to OK implied odds and the small amount for the flop bet. I still only play the right odds for the river card. I fold KQ to a raise PF if the raiser is tight. Now I wait until LP position to either raise with these hands to make it less likely for a raise plus I with be in position on the flop. I don’t play too many gappers. I will cold-call PF raises with SC’s if there are a few callers.

My poker Tracker stats are awesome at the moment. I downloaded it 13 days ago and I have played every day so far. I am up $700. I am on a 13-day winning streak. 28 max buy-ins at the $25 NL tables. I have played close to 40 hours in that time. I have seen 16000 hands. My BB/100 is 8.74. I am averaging $18.48/hr and 53.90 a day. 2 buy-ins a day is very nice. I played a lot yesterday and made $175.

FT started having deep stack tables. At the $25 tables you can buy-in for $50. I always try to get on the deep tables to eliminate the short stack factor at the regular tables. I buy-in for $25 at the moment and with all the big stacks I usually have a chance to double-up if we get all-in. I will ride this streak out before I try to move up to the $50’s. The Hud stats are really helping me pull in some nice pots and fold some hands that I would normally play, not knowing how tight the raiser was due to playing so many tables. (8). I currently have $850 online and hope to not cashout any time soon.

Live I am up over $800 for the year. I have only been to a B&M casino once this year.

I am doing OK in the FT fantasy poker this year also. I have already qualified for 6 $2000 freerolls.

I've moved...

If you're looking for me, this is the old home, now a rental to make me tax write-offs.

You can find me now on blogspot avenue. Remember, the new address (good for Goggling) is Shamanalix Sayz -- with a z. So original. Such an unreformed armadillo...

I guess that's a wrap

Enough poker for the weekend! Today was not a day to write home about. But it could have been a lot worse. I'm satisfied with my play, if not the result.

In brief, I tried four tournaments today: two at Full Tilt, one at Jungle and one at Bodog. Best outcome was a final table and points-bubble-ninth showing in the Poker Analysis Buy-In League game at Jungle. That's not going to win me the league October title; got to do a lot better in the next one Friday at Absolute Poker, if I'm around for it. Today's capper was a $3K-guarantee $10+$1 R/AO at 'dog that drew 135 players; I finished a semi-decent 47th, but never got the run of good cards I'd been enjoying recently. I also need an ace-detector; running into pocket rockets is a fast but no-fun way to have one's stacks castrated, and it happened to me three times today. Pooh.

Today's oh-fer snapped a streak of seven straight cashes/satellite seats this week, including 2-for-2 Saturday. Got 3rd place and $10 in the weekly Aces Cracked TLB-IV game at PokerStars; earlier in the day I won the Maximum Poker League TPFC qualifier at new Wingows (which I finally got around to downloading and joining Saturday, via MPL). The TPFC final will be back at new Wingows in two weeks, and hopefully that'll give me my first real dough on the site. Beats depositing!

If only I hadn't felt so sure of Wisconsin's football team against Illinois; that was expensive. Thought it was the Lock of the Year. Who know the Illini are for real. Wish I'd had that kinda confidence in my alma mater Mizzou against Nebraska...

Lots of work Monday and Tuesday, so poker's on the back burner until Wednesday. Still trying to figure out how to do this blog thingie. AC jefe Paul says I can put links by typing the url in my posts. What's a url? He also says customizing the sidebar with links like at Al's blog, Irongirl's blog, Falstaff's blog, etc., is something he can't find a way for me to do. Argh!!! Hate being computer illiterate...

Forgot what I was talking about. Oh well. Onward we all shall grind...

I like days like yesterday...

One tournament, one win. Every day should be so successful! (Yeah, right, dreamer.) :lalala:

Played the Poker Analysis Buy-In league's first event of the month Thursday, a $5.50 buy at PokerStars. Played a little quieter and more by-the-book than normal (for me). But I really think the secret to winning was talking backwards (sdrawkcab gniklat) at the start until spoilsport league commish Celine (love ya gorgeous!) put a stop to the fun with "No foreign languages!". (sigh...) Oh, yeah, getting good cards and playing them properly helped a wee bit, too. And a pinch of luck, like the last ace on the river that beat tough CaffeineHigh and ended our heads-up. Sorry about that.

Anyways, I won't every refuse the $22 top prize ($16.50 profit!) and the 100 league points. Can we end the league month right now please?? Unfortuately, a lot of October to go ... and I won't be able to make every league game, so the odds of my first B-I monthly title are still not good. Every game: !!!doog yalp attoG

Now if only I can get some expert online/blogger help on how to change the times of these posts (I am NOT in France, stop confusing me, clock!), how to post links to other poker bloggers and forums, etc. etc. etc. At least, when you're a writer (like unfortunately moi), once you start you just can't stop! Thank you, words and my second-nature true self!

More soon. Keep them cards and letters coming in. Probably no games tonight, gonna help a friend going through job and woman troubles to find some distractions. See you in Vegas Dec. 2-11!
